About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Individual Giving to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive gift strategy that supports long-term philanthropic growth. This senior fundraising leader will be responsible for managing a personal portfolio of high-net-worth prospects, overseeing the development team, and providing strategic guidance to ensure successful donor engagement and revenue generation. The role involves leading fundraising efforts for various institutional priorities, including scholarships and academic programs, and requires close collaboration with the Vice President of Advancement and other key stakeholders.
Candidates for the Executive Director position must have exceptional interpersonal skills, a proven ability to secure major gifts, and strong strategic thinking and team leadership abilities. The role demands a commitment to integrity, discretion, and donor confidentiality, as well as the willingness to travel and work flexible hours. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for an advanced degree or fundraising certification, and a minimum of 7 years' progressive fundraising experience, including a track record of success in securing major gifts. Experience in higher education or campaign fundraising is strongly preferred, along with proficiency in fundraising databases and prospect research tools. The successful candidate will be adept at managing multiple projects, and deadlines, and will have a hands-on approach to annual fund, major gifts, and planned giving programs.
