Freelance Art Director

We are seeking an experienced freelance art director for a fixed-term contract to support a major global consumer health brand. This position offers an exciting blend of big-picture conceptual thinking and hands-on creative execution across digital, video, social, and e-commerce channels. In this role, you'll drive creative projects from brief through delivery: originating ideas, guiding adaptation at scale, and ensuring all creative meets a high standardwhile navigating the complexities of a regulated industry. It's ideal for an art director who thrives in fast-paced teams, collaborates effectively, and consistently elevates creative across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead visual direction across digital, video, social media, and e-commerce projects
  • Translate briefs into compelling concepts and executions
  • Maintain high visual standards across all deliverables
  • Collaborate closely with designers, copywriters, and creative leads
  • Develop original creative ideas for campaigns and ongoing activities
  • Prepare layouts, storyboards, moodboards, and visual systems
  • Oversee adaptation of content across multiple formats, platforms, and markets
  • Ensure creative ideas deliver consistent impact across channels
  • Shape creative for paid/organic social, display, video, online motion, and e-commerce initiatives
  • Steward brand visual identity and navigate regulatory requirements
  • Review work for accuracy, clarity, and compliance
  • Partner with strategy, account, and production teams, presenting work to clients and stakeholders

Requirements Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience as an art director or senior designer
  • Strong portfolio highlighting conceptual thinking and multichannel execution
  • Expertise in digital, video, social media, and e-commerce projects
  • Advanced visual design skills in layout, typography, and storytelling
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with consumer health or other regulated brands
  • Motion design skills or familiarity with motion workflows
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior creatives
  • Familiarity with Figma and collaborative design tools
