Team Lead, Ocean Export
The Ocean Export Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the export of goods via ocean transport. This position manages a team of export professionals and ensures that export processes are executed in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of export professionals
- Develop and implement export processes and procedures
- Ensure that export processes are executed in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner
- Coordinate with internal teams, such as logistics and customer service, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Maintain relationships with customers and partners
- Analyze market trends and identify areas for process improvement
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws
- Manage and oversee documentation for export shipments
- Develop and implement training programs for the export team
Educational background / Work experience
- A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in ocean export operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with export regulations, customs clearance procedures, and industry best practices.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in using computer software programs related to logistics and supply chain management.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)
Responsible for managing a team of ocean export coordinators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with leading ocean cargo logistics software and systems
- Familiarity with ocean freight regulations, customs requirements, and export controls
- Knowledge of shipping routes and schedules
Language skills
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
Computer Literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with logistics software and systems is required
