Construction Estimator
We are actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join a long-standing, family-owned construction company specializing in high-end custom residential projects, light commercial work, and restoration-related services. Founded over 45 years ago, this company has earned a strong reputation for craftsmanship, integrity, and client relationships. This is a brand-new role, created to support continued growth and to take estimating and proposal responsibilities to the next level. This position is ideal for someone with a residential construction background who enjoys both office-based estimating and on-site collaboration. Responsibilities: Meet with customers to gather project scope, review plans, and understand design selections. Prepare detailed estimates and professional proposals for residential, high-end custom, and light commercial projects. Perform material takeoffs and determine labor requirements with accuracy and efficiency. Schedule and meet subcontractors on-site to review scope of work and solicit competitive bids. Request, gather, compare, and track multiple subcontractor and vendor quotes across numerous projects. Coordinate closely with Project Managers to ensure estimates align with execution and timelines. Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Spend approximately 60% of time in-office preparing estimates and proposals, and 40% on job sites. Assist with job selling when applicable, adding value through client-facing communication and follow-up. Requirements: 15 years of experience in construction estimating or a related residential construction role. Strong knowledge of residential construction; experience with high-end or custom homes is highly preferred. Construction-related degree is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to read plans, perform takeoffs, and understand construction sequencing. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask across multiple projects. Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused mindset. Residential construction background is strongly preferred. Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, or extended hours based on business needs. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience. Incentive and bonus opportunities may be available, especially for candidates who assist with job selling. Stable, family-owned company with long-term growth potential. Opportunity to step into a newly created role and help shape estimating processes moving forward. Exposure to a wide range of project sizes, including high-end custom homes and restoration-related work. If you are looking to take the next step in your career to work for a team that is quality-focused and well-established in the restoration industry, APPLY TODAY! All inquiries CONFIDENTIAL!
