Responsibilities
Prepare documentation and legal draft of contracts, ensuring requirements are met and language complies with university policies, federal and state laws.
Coordinate with Compliance Office and Office of General Counsel to resolve compliance issues and maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
Serve as liaison between university departments and vendors to oversee intake, review, and finalization of all contracts.
Maintain contract filing system, administer and maintain the Contract Management Database, and monitor renewal notifications.
Provide training manuals and documentation for ongoing contract training, and assist faculty, staff, and students on legal issues in grants and contracts administration.
Promote adherence to the Health Sciences Compliance Program, HIPAA privacy policies, and federal healthcare program requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
5 to 8 years experience in an academic, healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR) is a plus.
Preferred certifications: Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), Certified Research Administrator, or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
Knowledge of government contracting laws, regulations, and guidelines such as FARS and core contracting phases.
Strong project and relationship management skills, team building, and customer service orientation.
