Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a Senior Content Writer with a strong journalistic foundation and deep experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling stories across a variety of content formats. This role supports an enterprise technology organization operating in the data infrastructure and storage space.
You'll operate as an embedded content expert within the client's Communications organization, delivering writing services through a Crawford Group-led professional services engagement. In this role, you are expected to contribute ideas, perspectives, and editorial judgment-helping shape narratives and content direction, not simply execute against briefs. This is a remote, part-time, project-based contract engagement. Content assignments are project-based and typically include a set number of deliverables per quarter, depending on scope and priorities.

Responsibilities:
- Develop authoritative, editorial-style content that explains complex enterprise technology topics in a clear, accessible way
- Translate highly technical concepts related to data infrastructure, AI, and cloud-adjacent technologies into compelling narratives for senior business leaders, including C-suite and executive audiences, as well as technical stakeholders
- Bring proactive story ideas, angles, and recommendations informed by industry context and audience needs
- Partner with communications leaders to help shape messaging, story framing, and editorial direction
- Collaborate closely with content strategists and technical subject matter experts
- Conduct interviews and synthesize insights from technical and executive stakeholders
- Apply a business-impact and audience-first lens to technology storytelling, connecting complex topics to real-world relevance
- Incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders while maintaining editorial integrity and clarity
- Manage content assignments with clearly defined scopes and deadlines, delivering high-quality work on time for each individual content piece
- Long-form articles and thought leadership
- Brand journalism and corporate communications content
- Technical blogs and educational content
- Customer and industry stories
- Executive bylines and point-of-view pieces
- Video scripts (explainer, narrative, or short-form)
- Podcast-related content, including episode outlines, interview scripts, or narrative framing
- 10+ years of professional writing experience, ideally with a background in journalism, editorial content, or enterprise B2B storytelling
- Experience developing brand journalism or corporate communications content for executive and C-level audiences for enterprise technology organizations
- Proven ability to write about complex domains such as data infrastructure, AI, and emerging technology trends at an editorial-not promotional-level
- Strong editorial judgment and comfort contributing ideas and strategic input in partnership with communications leaders
- Excellent interviewing skills and experience working directly with technical experts and senior executives
- Experience writing across multiple formats, including long-form editorial and scripted content
- Exceptional editing skills and attention to detail
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, client-facing environment
- Prior agency or professional services experience strongly preferred
- 2-3 publicly available writing samples that align with the types of content outlined in this role
- Samples should represent different formats, ideally one per content type
- Samples should demonstrate your ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, engaging, authoritative content for external audiences
Location: Can work remotely from within the U.S.
Duration: Part-time (~15 hours per week average.), February through April 2026 (Potential for extension.)
Rate: $85 per hour, W-2 consultant of Crawford Group; benefits available if eligible (Our hourly ranges are determined based on skills, experience and location)
