Web And Digital Media Specialist

Position Overview
This fixed‑term, 10‑month position (18 hours per week, renewable every 2 years) is hybrid‑eligible. The role promotes African and Caribbean poetry by creating and managing engaging digital content for the African Poetry Book Fund (APBF) and Caribbean Poetry Book Series (CPBSC).
Responsibilities
Create, research, and publish a weekly newsletter and blog posts highlighting African poets, poetry news, and APBF/CPBSC initiatives.
Maintain and regularly update the APBF and CPBSC websites, ensuring content remains relevant and accessible.
Collaborate with APBF/CPBSC team members and Brown technical services to maintain website infrastructure and streamline communications.
Amplify the visibility and impact of African and Caribbean poetry globally.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination.
Excellent research skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with web content management systems.
Knowledge of marketing tools for measuring engagement success.
Proficiency in basic image manipulation and graphic design with Adobe Photoshop.
Willingness to learn basic video editing.
Experience managing Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms for higher education or similar clients.
Familiarity with Google Suite and Constant Contact or related products.
