Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

with a strong background in the

construction industry

to provide part‑time strategic financial leadership. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in

job costing, cash flow management, project profitability, and financial forecasting

to help guide our company’s growth and improve financial performance. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional who can deliver executive‑level insight and leadership on a flexible or contract basis. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals and growth plans. Provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, including bidding, contracting, and project management. Advise ownership and executive team on risk management, capital allocation, and long‑term planning. Financial Planning & Analysis

Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling for multiple projects. Evaluate project profitability, coast structure, and return on investment. Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial performance reports. Operational Finance Oversight

Improve internal controls, accounting systems, and reporting processes. Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and timely billing. Oversee WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, change order tracking, and revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP. Banking

Manage relationships with banks, bonding companies, and insurance providers. Support bonding capacity reviews and compliance with loan convenants. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements. Leadership & Mentoring

Mentor and support accounting and finance staff. Work collaboratively with leadership on financial training, process improvement, and systems integration (e.g., Quickbooks, Procore and Kojo. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Minimum

10+ years of financial leadership experience,

with

at least 5 years in the construction industry. Proven experience with

job costing, WIP schedules, percentage‑of completion accounting,

and project‑based financial reporting. Strong understanding of construction contracts, including AIA billing, retainage, and subcontractor management. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Experience with construction‑specific software systems is highly desirable.
