Public Service Employee - Public Works & Environmental Services Qualifications Must possess an unrestricted Michigan driver’s license, and be able to obtain, or already have, a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with air brakes, within 90 days from date of hire. The City provides full CDL training preparation, first round testing fees, and vehicle for testing for candidates hired without a current CDL license. Additionally, to perform the essential functions of the job, an individual could be involved in lifting heavy objects, bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and standing for long periods of time during the work shift. Previous work experience should reflect a good attendance and timeliness record. An individual may be required to maintain physical condition necessary to stand and walk for long periods of time, with moderate to heavy lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, bending, and exposure to varying weather conditions, odors, fumes, and noise.
