Description Job Overview:
As a Benefits Specialist, you’re responsible for supporting the administration of benefits programs, maintaining all benefit records and files, providing superior customer service, addressing escalated requests, processing documentation, payroll, and benefit auditing. This position will also support plan implementation, open enrollment, leave of absences, and compliance filing.
Your Responsibilities:
Coordinate with vendor partners for events and resources supporting health and wellness initiatives.
Support leave of absence administration and employee requests.
Assist with annual compliance activities such as ACA reporting, 401(k) nondiscrimination testing, audits, and open enrollment in collaboration with the Benefits Manager.
Perform routine data and payroll audits to ensure accuracy and identify issues.
Provide administrative and technical support to ensure timely initiative follow-through.
Coordinate new client onboarding and contract update workflows.
Collaborate on change management and communication planning with the Benefits Manager.
Handle QMCSO, QDRO, Medicare, and Medicaid transactions, including communication with employees and agencies.
Perform other duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
At least 3 years of benefits administration experience with a large employer.
Hands-on experience with various employee benefits (life, AD&D, disability, medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, etc.).
Knowledge of FMLA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, IRS §125.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills across all employee levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Team-oriented with policy enforcement skills.
Ability to lift 10-15 lbs.
