Human Resources Analyst I:
$63,947 - $67,144 DOQ Human Resources Analyst II:
$70,502 - $74,027 DOQ POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED
Under limited direction, the Human Resources Analyst II performs highly skilled and professional work in various HR functions including classification, compensation, EEO, recruitment, workforce planning, employee development, performance appraisal, occupational analysis, labor relations, benefits, employee relations, FMLA administration, and other personnel programs within the Human Resources Department. Current recruitment is for our Employee Relations & Equity Services Division. Essential Functions
Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), may include any of the following duties, knowledge, and skills: Develops and creates presentations to communicate policies and procedures; creates and administers SOPs. Analyzes, researches, and recommends improvements to HR policies, procedures, and programs; maintains employee databases and files. Collects performance management data and develops reports using queries and reporting tools to produce metrics. Performs projects, develops relations with city departments and outside vendors. Handles administrative tasks including budget development, policy updates, payroll, and other initiatives. Administers training, supports HR policies, and assists other HR areas as needed. Works with supervisors to address employee performance and behavior issues; manages disciplinary and termination documents; coordinates Employee Assistance Program (EAP); mediates employee relations. Coordinates and facilitates drug and alcohol testing; maintains logs; schedules testing; works with testing facilities; supports discipline processes. Conducts investigations regarding HR violations; researches workplace conduct and violence; monitors policy compliance; responds to DEO Reemployment Claims. Supports investigations of discrimination complaints; reviews and develops EEO policies; provides training on employee relations and EEO topics. Qualifications
For HR Analyst I:
Bachelor's in HR, Business, Public Admin, Psychology, or related; 1 year HR experience or related qualifications including professional HR certification and 5 years experience. For HR Analyst II:
Bachelor's in related field; 3 years professional HR experience; PHR/SPHR or similar certification required. Knowledge and Skills
Office practices, personnel administration, benefits, EEO, ADA, policies, record keeping, customer service, and office equipment. Performing clerical work, interpreting policies, handling confidential files, preparing reports, de-escalating disputes, maintaining relationships, and operating computers.
