Under general direction, you will be accountable for the enrollment, retention, and completion of students in select populations. You will develop, implement, and assess creative methodologies to ensure student success, defined by increased completion and retention rates. Your role will involve providing academic mentoring, assisting students in planning educational goals, selecting appropriate coursework, and reviewing graduation requirements. You will also track and document student enrollment and engagement through to completion. JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, accountable for the enrollment, retention, and completion of students identified in select populations. Develops, implements, and assess creative methodologies that ensures student success as defined by the increased completion and retention of students. Provides academic mentoring to students, assisting them in planning educational goals, reviewing the programs of study and respective requirements, selecting appropriate course work, and reviewing graduation requirements. Track and document student enrollment and engagement of targeted cohorts through to completion. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Work collaboratively with Student Success staff to analyze and interpret student retention and completion data in order to identify and implement opportunities for improvement (15) Partner with Academic Advisors to support degree completion through degree audit reviews, student monitoring and tracking, and similar proactive strategies (10%) Analyzes and interprets departmental and institutional requirements for students in order to teach course registration self-reliance for future academic terms (10%) Provide guidance, intervention, direction and disseminate information on effective completion strategies (10%) Conduct workshops to promote time management, academic progress, course registrations and career outcomes (20%). Makes appropriate referrals to campus partners for meetings with academic departments, tutoring, counseling, services for students with disabilities, career development, military and veterans services, and other available support services (5%) Works in collaboration with all members of the IRSC community to promote individual student success (5%) Supports students in the positive resolution of challenges and barriers that impede their success (10%). Utilizing current research, data and tracking to ensure accountability for positive student outcomes (10%) Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%). QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include: Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience, Master’s degree preferred; Minimum of two (2) years of successful work experience in leading, developing, and implementing strategies to enhance student success; Experience in retention and completion of students in a college or university setting; Strong commitment to student success Proven leadership, judgment, follow-up and organizational capabilities; Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills; Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines; Strong relationship-building attributes such as empathy, concern and commitment to student success; Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and multi-task; Ability and experience in analyzing data, identifying trends and gaps, and developing and implementing student completion strategies; PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires an ability to sit, stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
