Actalent is hiring a
CAD Designer
for design and drafting work in Niceville, FL. This is a contract-to-hire role with a weekly pay range of $30.00–$40.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
Support the engineering team with CAD knowledge.
Develop CAD drawings for the assigned department.
Create plans independently and under direction from lead staff.
Engage in the technical development of contract plans and marketing exhibits.
Maintain project drawing files.
Create maps, graphs, charts, overlays, base drawings, details, and sketches.
Complete red line mark-ups and address design comments related to site layout and details.
Organize and a variety of complex layouts and drawings from written or verbal specifications or from rough or detailed sketches.
Follow CAD standards for the project established by the client, firm, and industry.
Recommend standards symbols to meet specialized needs of a particular project, or to enhance CAD productivity.
Maintain current knowledge of design and drafting procedures in specialty field.
Use basic quantity and geometry calculations in creation of drawings.
Perform mathematical calculations and quantity takeoffs.
Qualifications Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Expertise in drafting and civil engineering design.
Experience in land development and construction drawings.
Ability to perform basic quantity and geometry calculations.
Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Minimum of three years of experience in civil engineering drafting and design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in airport, transportation, or land development is desired.
Work Environment The work usually takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. Occasionally, site visits may require working in outdoor environments. Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.
