Mechanical Engineer III
Location Onsite (not remote)
Pay Rate $40 – $60/hr
Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer III will carry out engineering assignments for the design, analysis, development, testing, and troubleshooting of military refrigeration and thermal management equipment. Responsibilities include performing drawing checks, working collaboratively with other departments, and acting as Project/Cognizant Engineer for medium-complexity projects. The role requires interaction with engineers, departments, customers, suppliers, and management.
Qualifications
BSME or equivalent with 2–7 years of relevant experience; Master’s in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
2-5+ years of experience in the design and fabrication of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
Hands‑on hardware and test experience required. Knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer is required.
Proficiency with ANSI Y14.5 drawing standards; understanding of military specifications and aerospace/military environments.
Experience in hydraulics, mechanical feed systems, linear controls, basic electronics, and servo‑mechanisms.
Experience with thermal system development, electrical circuits, and control theory is a plus.
General machine shop experience is beneficial.
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present to customers.
Capable of meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements; strong organizational and prioritization skills.
