Overview
Coleman Search Group is partnering with a top-30 SFAA surety-ranked insurance carrier to fill a contract surety underwriter position in Arizona. This role offers career growth and long-term stability with a national footprint and strong culture that values commitment and dedication.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage a profitable book of large contract surety business by leveraging current agency relationships and pursuing new opportunities through client engagement and business development activities with agents & contractors, including appointing new agencies.
Assess and approve bonds and programs within assigned authority while providing recommendations on accounts exceeding authority.
Evaluate and interpret bonds, contracts, credit reports and loan agreements.
Display high degree of professionalism, underwriting expertise and familiarity with the local construction and economic environment.
Develop growth and profitability plans, including cross‑selling strategies, for all surety lines.
Strategically partner with our commercial surety and small contract lines.
Effectively interact and communicate internally and externally with polish, poise and a sense of commitment and ownership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 4 years of experience writing large contract surety business.
Strong proficiency with financial analysis and knowledge of construction accounting methods.
Additional training and certifications including AFSB, CPCU or other courses and designations highly desirable.
Professionalism at all times and ability to cultivate and maintain relationships.
Ability to work autonomously in the field and as a valuable teammate among associates and colleagues.
Benefits Competitive salary range $84,000.00 – $127,000.00 with potential for growth, plus opportunities for continued learning and advancement in a respected industry leader.
