**Senior System Mechanical Engineer** **Job Summary:** The Senior System Mechanical Engineer **Key Job Responsibilities:** Develop design record documents in compliance with company requirements Create Design Requirements Documents (DRD) based on Market Requirements Documents (MRD) created by Product Management. Create plans for component and system tests and interpret results to demonstrate that designs meet requirements.Work with Mechanical Designers to create detailed CAD models and drawings.Develop timelines and cost estimates for development tasks and appraise management of performance to plan. Work with the Quality dept. to develop inspection and test plans for supplier qualification of new components and sub-assemblies. Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** 10+ years of experience developing mechanical components and systems for new products. 5+ years of experience performing mechanical engineering hand-calculations 5+ years design experience designing structural components and hardware, gearing and/or drivetrains. 5+ years of experience utilizing FEA, DFMA and design for cost in the development of new products.5+ years of experience using 3D CAD software 5+ years of experience defining design validation tests 2+ years of experience using SolidWorks 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite **Preferred qualifications:** Ability to effectively work on multiple projects concurrently Excellent communication and team building skills Organizational and time-management skills Experience in the solar industry Ability to work in a fast paced, smaller company environment
