What We're Looking For
This position independently works on a variety of architectural design projects, providing seasoned design solutions and technical support to Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects, and other team members. The Architectural Designer IV applies advanced knowledge of architectural design, documentation, and coordination to support project delivery from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
Performs a variety of architectural assignments, developing models, drawings, and construction documents from defined objectives, requirements, and design approaches
Obtains and incorporates project information to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and complete
Develops and presents architectural solutions for complex design elements that may vary from established standards
Provides seasoned recommendations and technical input to address architectural design challenges
Coordinates with internal disciplines and consultants to ensure architectural integration and constructability
Communicates with clients regarding architectural design aspects and participates in client meetings as needed
Reviews, critiques, and quality‑checks architectural drawings prepared by others
Assists with preparation of cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and design narratives
Interprets applicable codes, standards, and guidelines and applies them to architectural designs
May act as a project‑specific design lead for architectural production efforts
Mentors and supports less experienced architectural designers and interns, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
Reviews work of others for quality, consistency, and adherence to architectural standards
Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant architectural experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Progress toward architectural licensure preferred
Applies advanced architectural knowledge gained through progressive experience to resolve complex design and documentation challenges
Proficient in architectural design and production software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and other tools required for architectural practice
Strong understanding of architectural drawing standards, building systems, constructability, and coordination requirements
Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and resourcefulness in completing assignments
Communicates clearly and professionally with internal teams and clients
