Our sales representatives are on the road daily, meeting with customers, visiting job sites, and building relationships with key stakeholders to ensure continued success.

In this outside sales role, you will be responsible for becoming an expert on Victaulic products, understanding the industry, and developing strong relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and project owners to drive business in your territory.

BECOME THE EXPERT

Learn the Products

Learn all about Victaulic’s products and the solutions we provide. We offer an excellent training program.

Know the Industry

Learn grooved mechanical pipe joining methods and competitive methods (e.g., welding and flanging). Use this knowledge to overcome objections in the field.

Understand construction cycles, identify major projects (construction, expansion, retrofit), stay current with market trends and competitor activity, and engage with local trade organizations and associations.

Understand the Business

With your Regional Sales Manager, develop a business plan including opportunity mapping, goals, product promotion, and strategies to maximize sales potential.

Execute all phases of project pursuit and management—from inception through design, bidding, site training, commissioning, and after-sale follow up.

Gather complete information for quotations (application, specification, pricing, timing) and lead the inside sales team, engineering, and other support staff to meet customer requirements.

BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS

Develop and sustain relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building/project owners. Be prepared to spend time with customers outside normal business hours for dinners, events, and other activities.

Partner with Victaulic distributors and coordinate with other representatives and regional market specialists to ensure the best customer experience.

EDUCATE AND INFLUENCE

Learn customer needs and educate them on the value Victaulic can bring to their projects. You may conduct on-site demonstrations or training and later deliver presentations to engineers.

Aim to educate customers and influence decision-makers to maximize sales potential.

Qualifications We seek lifelong learners and prefer a bachelor’s degree. Previous sales experience selling value-added products/services, preferably in the commercial construction, PVF (pipes, valves, fittings), or mechanical products, is advantageous. A track record of sales achievement and developing long-standing relationships is beneficial. Strong self-motivation, professionalism, problem-solving, resourcefulness, and project management skills are important. Some territories require heavier overnight travel. Willingness to travel, resilience in adverse conditions, and ability to handle physical aspects of the role (equipment up to 50+ pounds) are expected.
