Overview Contract length: 12+ Months. Our Direct Client is seeking an experienced, full-time, on-site, dedicated candidate with skills and expertise as described in the requirements below.

Responsibilities Our client seeks a highly-skilled ETL Developer to design and fill a bespoke data warehousing environment. The duties will include providing production support, consulting with the data management team, reviewing the storage needs of the company, creating a refined data warehousing environment, extracting data from university servers, populating the new warehousing system, and testing the environment upon completion. Ideal candidates should have extensive knowledge of coding languages and warehouse architecture, be able to see the big picture of a company’s data needs, and be able to clearly communicate their ideas to the company. The ETL Developer will create a highly efficient and customized warehouse environment that perfectly suits the data storage needs of the company.

Qualifications Skill Required/Desired Over 9+ yrs exp Provides technical support for the development, implementation and maintenance of an internal database. Maintains policies and procedures for ensuring database’s security and integrity. Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes. Resolves database performance and capacity issues, and replication and other distributed data issues. Relies on knowledge and professional discretion to plan and achieve goals. Works under general supervision and usually reports to a supervisor, though some ingenuity and flexibility is required. May require a bachelor’s degree in a related area and 2–4 years of relevant experience.

The successful candidate will perform database management duties including problem resolution, performance tuning, backups, recoveries, disaster contingency testing, database product installation and patching, database configuration and product life cycle management. Looking for motivated, self-initiating individuals with strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn and grow.

Preferred Criteria

Minimum 3 year DB2 zOS Database Administrative Experience

Experience with CLOBs

Proactive Performance Management

Proactive Capacity Management

DB2 Cloning Experiences

Maintains policies and procedures for ensuring database’s security and integrity

Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance code

Experience with online reorgs

Experience supporting and upgrading DB2 Connect

Experience with other relational database technologies is a plus

Example of Duties

Manage maintenance of databases including backups, statistics, patching and upgrades

Investigate, analyze and resolve database incidents including performance bottlenecks and connectivity issues

Provide recommendations for continuous improvements within the DB2 environment

Develop reports/tools to help manage the environments
