Qualified Social Worker – Looked After Children (LAC)

About the Role Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker with a strong background in Looked After Children (LAC)? 3D Recruit is working in partnership with leading local authorities to recruit skilled Qualified Social Workers for busy, fast‑paced LAC teams delivering positive outcomes for children and young people.
This is a demanding but rewarding role, requiring resilience, excellent court skills, and a child‑centred approach. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Leaving Care Service, alongside a range of external partners, to ensure children receive consistent, high‑quality care and planning for their futures.
Experience Required You must be able to clearly demonstrate experience of Looked After Children care, which may have been gained through one of the following:
Working directly within a LAC or Court Team
Attending court while working in a Safeguarding or Child Protection service
Another relevant area of Children’s Services involving statutory LAC responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Manage a complex caseload of Looked After Children
Complete statutory visits, care planning, and reviews
Prepare high‑quality court reports and attend court proceedings as required
Work in partnership with children, families, carers, Leaving Care colleagues, and external agencies
Deliver timely, outcome‑focused interventions that promote stability and permanence
Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date case records in line with legislation and local policy
Essential Requirements
Degree or Masters in Social Work
Social Work England registration
Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience
Proven experience working with Looked After Children
Strong knowledge of UK children’s legislation and statutory guidance
Right to work in the UK
