Job Description Our Federal Group has an opening for a Business Development Advisor to our EPA clients.
Job Responsibilities
Client Perception Review/Voice of the Customer Initiatives - Conduct confidential client perception reviews to assess our firm’s capabilities, performance, and reputation, providing candid, actionable feedback to inform strategic improvements and strengthen client relationships.
EPA Strategy Development: Leverage her experience at Region 10 and EPA HQ to inform CDM Smith’s positioning and knowledge of the agency’s multi-tiered and decentralized organization. Some of the items CDM Smith wants to better understand:
How (reporting structure, mechanisms, etc.) HQ interacts with the Regions and their positional power, if any.
The degree of regional autonomy (choice of contract vehicles, SB goals, business practices [subcontractor mark‑ups] in executing Superfund work.
The role of EPA’s Office of Acquisition Solutions (OAS) and insight into how the agency structures and conceives contract vehicles/mechanisms and how to best influence.
Assist with identification of future environmental contract pursuits at the HQ and regional levels that align with CDM Smith core and adjacent capabilities.
RAF 2.0 Support: Assist with strategy, proposal reviews, and content development.
GSA: Assist with targeted/smart use of GSA contract to expand CDM Smith’s opportunities within Superfund program and elsewhere.
SB/8(a) Directed Opportunities: Assist with outreach to EPA to improve opportunity identification/wins using Ahtna/CDM 8(a) and Plexus/CDM JVs.
Improve our understanding and selling of STREAMS contract to EPA RPMs to generate additional task orders to support Superfund program using this existing contract.
DES/RES Forecasting: Provide insights into EPA’s future procurement priorities and how best CDM Smith can pre‑position and respond.
Office of Water Exploration: Identify new programmatic opportunities.
EPA HQ Navigation: Clarify procurement patterns and office roles.
Introductions & Networking: Facilitate connections between CDM Smith staff and key EPA personnel within various regions (Superfund), Office of Water, and HQ EPA.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
12 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Pay Range Minimum $138,258
Pay Range Maximum $241,966

This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for this position based on the geographic location assigned to the position. Please note that pay ranges vary based on geographic location. In addition to geographic location, the company considers several other factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, the candidate’s work experience, education/training and key skills.
