Engagement Manager – FinTech & Capital Markets

Role Overview
We are seeking a senior, client‑facing Engagement Manager to partner with major banks and financial services product organizations on mission‑critical platforms, owning executive relationships, delivery alignment, and commercial conversations while bridging client teams and Intellibus engineering and driving account growth.
This role is a true client‑facing leadership position, responsible for:
Owning executive relationships
Handling commercial conversations
Pushing back when needed
Expanding the engagement footprint
You will act as the bridge between client product teams and Intellibus engineering and architecture teams, ensuring expectations, scope, and delivery stay aligned.
This is not a PMO or project tracking role.
This is an engagement ownership role with business, delivery, and relationship accountability.
What We Are Specifically Looking For
We are targeting leaders with backgrounds similar to:
Engagement leads at financial services technology vendors
Consulting managers serving capital markets clients
Client partners supporting trading, regulatory, or wealth platforms
Ideal experience includes working with:
Bank product teams
Trading or post‑trade platforms
Wealth management systems
Regulatory or reporting platforms
Candidates must be comfortable challenging clients respectfully when scope, priorities, or timelines are unrealistic.
Key Responsibilities
Own day‑to‑day executive relationships with client product and technology leaders
Serve as an escalation point for delivery, scope, and priority conflicts
Facilitate difficult conversations and negotiate trade‑offs when required
Represent Intellibus in executive and product governance forums
Ensure alignment between client expectations and engineering execution
Partner with architects and delivery leads to shape feasible solutions
Review delivery plans, milestones, and risk areas
Proactively identify issues before they escape
Identify opportunities to expand scope and introduce new capabilities
Partner with leadership on revenue forecasting and pipeline development
Support contract discussions, renewals, and scope expansions
Maintain long‑term trusted‑advisor status with clients
Understand client product architecture and technical constraints
Translate between business objectives and engineering realities
Participate in solution discussions with architects and engineering leads
Ensure delivery plans align with product roadmaps
Act as internal advocate for the client while protecting Intellibus delivery teams
Drive accountability across client and internal stakeholders
Support onboarding and stabilization of new resources on the account
Required Experience
15+ years in consulting, financial services technology, or product delivery roles
Strong FinTech / Banking / Capital Markets domain experience (mandatory)
Prior experience in client‑facing engagement or account leadership roles
Proven ability to work with:
Product owners
Engineering leaders
Program and delivery managers
Strong understanding of:
Trading or wealth platforms
Regulatory or financial data systems
Comfortable owning both delivery outcomes and client relationships
Must‑Have Skills
Executive‑level communication and negotiation skills
Ability to push back professionally and protect delivery teams
Strong understanding of software engineering and system architecture
Commercial awareness and revenue ownership mindset
Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills
Calm under pressure in politically complex environments
Interview Process
15‑minute introductory video call with a member of our team
Proctored GQ assessment and slideware exercise to evaluate problem‑solving and presentation skills
Leadership and Executive interviews (panel or individual sessions, as needed)
