Personal Care Worker (PCW) – Job Requirements
Provision of personal care services including assistance with bathing, toileting (bedpan, urinal, commode or toilet), dressing and undressing, mobility and ambulating (walker, cane, or crutches), transfers (bed to chair, wheelchair, etc.), bed changing, laundering bed linens and personal clothing, skin care (excluding wound care), care of eyeglasses and hearing aids, light cleaning around essential areas, meal preparation and serving.
Promptly report changes in the consumer's condition to the R.N. Case Manager.
Complete all time sheets and necessary documentation to maintain program services accurately and timely.
Maintain confidentiality of consumer information.
Other Experience and Qualifications
Familiar with the philosophy and concepts of independent living.
Ability to understand and carry out consumer instructions.
Good communication skills; ability to relate well to others.
Good past employment references.
Physical strength sufficient to perform essential functions: sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach, bend, squat, twist, and lift or move individuals using transferring techniques or assistive technology.
Reliable vehicle or alternate means of transportation to worksite required.
Completion of interview and training conducted by PAS staff.
Successful satisfactory criminal background check, in compliance with state and federal regulations for personal care workers.
