divh2Unit Ambassador/h2pThe Unit Ambassador is responsible for: patient related clerical activities, departmental clerical duties, computerized order entry procedures, and other unit activities, as assigned. The Unit Ambassador must be able to provide and understand the specific communication needs of patients, families, and visitors. The Unit Ambassador will collaborate with Leadership in developing and implementing the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Systems, Mission, Goals and Values./ppMinimum Requirements/pulliHigh School Graduate or GED/liliCompletion of Unit Secretary Course or equivalent healthcare experience to include Medical Terminology/li/ulpExperience/pulliN/A/li/ulpLicense/Registration/Certifications/pulliHeart Saver/li/ulpPreferred Requirements/ppPreferred Education/pulliN/A/li/ulpPreferred Experience/pulli1-year acute care/liliMonitor Tech/li/ulpPreferred License/Registration/Certifications/pulliN/A/li/ulpCore Job Responsibilities/pulliDemonstrates proper business and telephone etiquette and sound judgment in receiving and placing calls/liliBasic Computer Skills/liliAssists patients by answering call lights in person, and helping with requests when able or notify nurse or PCA/CCA/EST in a timely and courteous manner/liliPass warm washcloths before meals, for quiet time or at bedtime to prepare patients for mealtimes and sleep hours/liliWelcomes and greets patients upon arrival to the unit and rounds on patients every 3 hours/liliDelivers meals/snacks, water and ice in a timely manner and assists patients with other comfort needs/liliStraighten Rooms - clear off bedside table; help keep rooms tidy/liliKnowledgeable in use of and response to Facility Alert, Medical Alert, Medical Emergency Systems/liliProactive in addressing potential needs of patients/liliRemains committed to unit, department and division goals/liliAttends continuing education classes for improvement offered at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System./liliReports risk management concerns to appropriate person/liliAdheres to system wide standards of behavior/liliMaintain minimum level of supplies for unit and/or patient care area/liliAnswers questions and directs visitors/family in a courteous manner/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ul/div
