The role of a Cake Decorator can provide you with the skills and experiences of:/pulliGuest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first culture in food/liliBuild guest relationships and convert interactions into sales through sampling, special orders and creating unique designs/liliBuilding in cake and dessert trends including: seasonality, guest preference, and flavor/liliMonitoring sales of products and adjusting production to drive efficiency, profitability and minimize waste/liliCake decorating fundamentals/li/ulpAs a Cake Decorator, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:/pulliDeliver an exceptional guest experience, providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guests needs over task./liliExecute Food
Beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, instocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing and organizing and storing reserve product./liliEngage with guests to capture and fulfill their customized cake order./liliUphold and maintain the execution of the Food
Beverage Standards/liliProduce, package and label items to specifications on production cards and follow specific department routines to drive sales, instocks and profitability./liliPrep, ice and decorate cakes and cupcakes to place on the salesfloor that are seasonally relevant and follow production card specifications./liliFollow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature sensitive food items, as outlined in Targets policies and procedures./liliLocate and identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to Targets policies and procedures./liliUse sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales./liliFollow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure an accurate recording of inventory./liliBe knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience./liliAppropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines./liliAlways demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance./liliWork in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible./liliSupport guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local laws./liliCreate a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks./liliWhen guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs./liliThank guests and let them know were happy they chose to shop at Target./liliAll other duties based on business needs/li/ulpWhat We Are Looking For: This may be the right job for you if:/pulliYou enjoy interacting and helping others - including guests that shop our store and fellow team members you work with./liliYou thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success./liliYou are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times)./li/ulpThe good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Cake Decorator.
