Design seeks an Administrative Specialist in the Department of Architecture, located at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus./ppAdministrative responsibilities for the School of Architecture and Design OW office and the Department of Architecture include but are not limited to the following:/pulliProvide support for the associate dean and chair in the daily running of the Architecture department./liliAct as liaison between students, faculty, and administrative departments (registrar, admissions, enrollment, student solutions, graduation office, student solutions, advisement, etc.)./liliProcess faculty compensation and stipends for architecture faculty - full time and adjuncts./liliAssist with faculty hiring including coordinating interviews and onboarding of new faculty by processing of employment paperwork./liliDevelop and maintain efficient and confidential record-keeping and filing systems./liliPurchasing and maintenance of office supplies, instructional supplies, equipment and computer software./li/ulpAdvisement/pulliRun academic advisement reports for students./liliWork closely with Senior Advisement Specialist, chair, and faculty with advisement and appointments./li/ulpEvents/ppAssist with administrative coordination of department and school events including but not limited to orientation, student tours, open houses, thesis reviews, lectures, exhibitions, workshops, commencement, and accreditation site preparations. Order food, secure space, promote events, prepare welcome packets, process honorariums, etc./ppSchool Support/ppAssist the deans office with special projects and tasks./ppBachelors degree required. 1-3 years experience in an office setting and/or customer service./ppProficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook and sharing platforms such as Google Suite and OneDrive, with the ability and willingness to learn other software./ppOutstanding organizational, computer, communication, writing/editing skills./ppWorking knowledge of social media preferred./ppExceptional problem solver with good customer service orientation.
