divh2Photo Editor/h2pReporting to the Photography Director, the Photo Editor will have strong editorial and storytelling judgment and be integral to the work of the photo team, helping to advance the mission of Audubon through impactful visuals. They will play a critical role in researching, assigning and editing photographic content for use by the National Audubon Society, including its development team and its network of state offices, centers, sanctuaries, and chapters as well as its offices in Latin America and the Caribbean./ppThis role is hybrid out of our New York, NY office./ppCompensation: $72,000 - $81,000 / year/ppEssential functions include:/pulliProvide photo research and photo editing for Audubons communications needs./liliBuild and cultivate relationships with lens-based talent across the western hemisphere./liliAssign freelance photographers/videographers to document Audubon projects and produce assets aligned with our file delivery standards./liliIntegrate cultural competencies, sensitivity in storytelling and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging values in all workflows and products./liliCollaborate with creative, social media, and communications staff on multiple projects and products in support of Audubons mission./liliCommunicate with stakeholders to set up and see through to completion projects framework, timeline, and deliverables./liliCommunicate in written and spoken Spanish with Audubons Latin America based staff as well as freelance photographers/videographers and vendors in the region./liliCollaborate with the Creative Project Manager to oversee concurrently and with limited supervision multiple projects on budget and deadline./liliKeep informed on inclusive and ethical practices in documentary and wildlife photography and integrate them into workflows./liliOther photo-editing duties as assigned by the Photography Director./liliMaintain and foster culture of safety./li/ulpQualifications and experience include:/pulliBachelors degree in visual arts, photography, journalism or related field./liliMinimum of 3 years of professional experience working in photo research/photo editing and assigning./liliProficiency with Adobe Suite products, especially Photoshop./liliKnowledge of stock photography landscape, licensing and copyrights best practices./liliSpanish written and spoken fluency required./liliVideo editing experience a plus./liliKnowledge of CMS/digital publishing a plus./liliKnowledge of project management platforms a plus./liliGeneral familiarity with and interest in birds and conservation a plus./liliCommitment to Audubons organizational values of care, collaboration, change, integrity, impact, and innovation./liliExperience fostering inclusive and collaborative work environments is valued./li/ulpThis position is represented by the Communication Workers of America (CWA)./ppNational Audubon Society competencies include:/pulliFostering Relationships: Build trust, mutual respect, and understanding through regular and genuine interactions while promoting a positive and inclusive environment./liliAnalytical Thinking: Recognize and value diverse perspectives and experiences in data analysis to foster a more comprehensive and equitable approach to problem-solving./liliCreativity and Innovation: Leverage creativity and imagination to generate new insights and solutions while embracing diverse ideas and approaches that foster innovation./liliFacilitating Change: Work with others to explore innovative approaches to problem-solving while promoting inclusivity, equity, accessibility, and belonging in the change process./liliTeam Leadership: Communicate vision and engage others or the team to solve problems while valuing diverse perspectives and fostering inclusivity./li/ulpEEO Statement: We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic outlined by federal, state, or local laws.
