Electronics!/ppJob Summary: The Conventional Machinist sets up and operates a variety of manual lathes to produce precision parts and instruments including fabricating, modifying, or repairing mechanical instruments. The Conventional Machinist may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures./ppEssential Functions:/pulliMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations./liliMaintains specification by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning, facing and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes./liliCalculates machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position/liliDocuments actions by completing production and quality logs./liliMaintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs./li/ulpMinimum Qualifications:/pulliExperience: 5+ years experience in general machining 3+ years experience operating manual lathes Experience using measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, plug gauges, and/or air gauges/liliKnowledge/Skills: Able to operate Drill press Manual lathe Punch press machine Tumbler/de-burr machine Grinder CNC lathe machining experience a plus./liliEducation / Certification: High school diploma or equivalent./liliEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
