As a Body Shop Prepper II for Manheim (a Cox Automotive company), you'll work on all sorts of vehicles, preparing all the repaired and primed panels for a new paint job. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program. Job Description: Inspect repaired and primed auto panels for proper body repairs and primer application. Replacing or restoring defective panels and other car components. Reviewing repair orders or tracking labels. Mask and protect any adjacent panels from scratches or damage before final sanding. Prepare properly repaired and primed panels using abrasives, power tools and hand tools. Avoid over-sanding or under-sanding refinish panels. Approve the preparation of repaired and primed panels for final finish application. Finishing all repairs in accordance with repair order. Completing and submitting the completed repair documentation. Clean and remove all dust and other particles from the repair/refinish panels. Perform other duties as assigned by your manager or supervisor. What You'll Do: Inspect repaired and primed auto panels for proper body repairs and primer application. The ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions. Valid driver's license and safe driving record. Preferred: Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
