Must successfully complete the Department of Human Services direct care staff training and examination during the first 14 days of the introductory period. Must have Med-Tech certification; current CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or obtaining CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 30 days of starting the position)./ppSkill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; general knowledge of assigned departments operations; decision-making skills, knowledge of current Department of Public Welfare regulations for personal care home./ppExperience: None required, but must have a Med-Tech certification./ppEssential Duties/pulliAdministers medications and treatments in the appropriate area and time. Properly identifies the resident, medication, label directions, and route of administration. Assures that the medication and treatments are maintained in a locked/secured area. Effectively reports medication needs and concerns to the pharmacy. Maintains narcotic records accurately according to interdepartmental guidelines and reports any narcotic discrepancies to the Health Services Manager./liliPerforms routine administrative tasks such as completing lab slips, scheduling appointments and transportation, preparing podiatry lists, maintenance requests./liliAdmits, transfers, and discharges residents following written physicians orders and in accordance with Agency policy./liliMonitors all lab work assuring that all testing is done in compliance with physicians orders and state and federal regulations. Consults with the physician regarding abnormal results and follows through with suggested and approved actions./liliAccurately evaluates residents physical and emotional status. Notifies physician of any changes in condition./liliAdministers professional services such as Foley care, dressing applications and changes, hot and cold packs, O2 therapy, etc. using appropriate aseptic technique./li/ulpSpiriTrust Lutheran is an Equal Opportunity Employer./p/div
