The ideal candidate will have a strong background in opto-mechanical design, with a focus on enhancing detection capabilities for various applications./ppstrongWhat Youll Do/strong/pulliOwn hardware from concept generation to real-world use./liliDevelop cutting-edge infrared sensors specifically for detection applications./liliUtilize first principles physics as a basis for all decisions./liliLead system integration activities into LIDAR and detection platforms including various vehicles./liliBuild prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production./liliSupport critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed./liliContribute to the development of new optical systems by assisting in design and implementation efforts./liliDefine top-level system architecture trades to develop optimal system designs./liliExecute in-depth and rigorous opto-mechanical designs./liliTravel to test sites as needed./li/ulpstrongRequired Qualifications/strong/pulliExperience in an immersive interdisciplinary technical project./liliExperience in design, hardware, or integrated product development and testing/liliProficiency in CAD (any platform) with the ability to create high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards./liliUnderstanding of thermal and structural analysis./liliDemonstrated hands-on fabrication skills./liliAbility to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (motors, controllers, sensors, etc.)./liliExperience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing./liliEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance/li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications/strong/pulliExperience with complex optical system design, analysis, testing, and implementation./liliExperience performing detailed analysis, including thermal-elastic, line-of-sight, jitter, modal, and thermal/li/ulpUS Salary Range $146,000 - $194,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
