Duties include preparing orders by processing requests according to the bill of materials; pulling parts; preparing parts for shipment or assembly kits; verifying accuracy of order; and completing associated electronic transactions in warehouse management system prior to part leaving the area./ppSafety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times./ph3Minimum Qualifications:/h3ulliRead and follow computerized instructions for pick and packing work order items./liliGather parts for shipment ensuring the type and quantity of parts match the order, inspect product and remove defective parts, record and document parts for shipment, package parts according to the order, utilize small package shipment systems as provided by carriers to create tracking labels, create supporting shipping documentation, move order to delivery area./liliGather parts for assemblers to build assembly kits using pick lists, inspect product and remove defective parts, stage parts kit on carts, deliver completed kits to the proper manufacturing area./liliContinually checking for completeness of work order requirements and components./liliOrganize and restock all products as needed on shelves and inventory control machines to insure customer orders are filled promptly and complete as possible./liliMaintain an adequate inventory of stock items and communicate shortages to Shop Supervision./liliAssist with physical inventory on a regular basis./liliExperience with UPS, UPS world ship, FedEx and shipment of hazardous materials is highly desired./liliExcellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees./liliWorking knowledge of SAP preferred./liliAbility to read and interpret work instructions./liliHigh attention to detail and excellent organizational skills./liliRequires operating Inventory Control machines (Kardex)./liliExperience with pallet jacks and forklift for material handling purposes./liliAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and/or other employees of the organization./liliAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent./liliAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
