divh2Day in the Life of a Cash Posting Specialist/h2pResponsible for the timely and accurate processing of remittances in EMR systems./pp80% Posts payments to practice management system (live checks, credit card, EFT deposits)./pp15% Balances batches and runs transaction reports./pp5% Records batch totals with date and initials on payment receipt spreadsheet./ppProper communication and documentation of payment denials in the practice management system and to the appropriate AR follow-up representative in a timely manner./ppIdentify improper payments (not paid at the allowed/contracted amount) or takebacks and communicate to the appropriate AR follow-up representative and/or supervisor in a timely manner./ppBalance payment postings on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and communicate with the accounting team to ensure balancing with deposit history./ppUnderstands and adheres to state and federal regulations and system policies regarding compliance, HIPAA, integrity, and ethical billing practices./ppResponsible for daily reporting of key performance indicators through various reporting tools./ppAssist with providing training and guidance to other team members./ppAssist with a variety of projects and perform other duties as assigned./ppProductivity to be monitored based on time spent performing transactions./ppAnalysts will be responsible for self-reporting at the end of each business day, including start and stop times for each activity completed./ppVerification of productivity using Batch Payments Summary (OTP) and Transaction Report (OBOT)./ph3Education and Experience Requirements/h3pHigh school diploma or equivalent./ppPreferred 2 years medical payment posting
