divh2Metal Repair Technician/h2pYou will perform a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout, and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components./ppYou will work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, and instructions./ppYou will use hand power tools and metal working tools to repair, manufacture, and/or modify aircraft or aircraft engine assemblies or parts./ppYou will manufacture and install patches, splices, reinforcements, and the use of replacement parts to repair damaged components./ppMust be a US Citizen./ppMust be determined suitable for federal employment./ppMust participate in the direct deposit pay program./ppNew employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check./ppWithin the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326./ppMales born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service./ppThis is a bargaining unit position./ppYou will be required to obtain and maintain required levels of certification and/or training./ppYou will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination./ppSuccessful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. Any weight to be lifted in excess of 40 pounds will not be attempted unaided./ppThis position requires near vision correctable at 14 to Jaeger 2 and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other. Must be able to distinguish colors and have depth perception./ppEye protection is required in hazardous areas in the form of approved safety glasses with side shield, goggles, and face shield./ppAbility to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision including: examining, repairing, manufacturing and modifying sheet metal parts and components of aircrafts in order to install straight edges and/or regular curves; forming sheet metal using hand and power tools to execute projects efficiently; planning and laying out work in accordance with blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications; disassembling, repairing, and modifying to process aircraft, aircraft engine structure, and components./p/div
