The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Head of Small Molecule IP to lead a global team in building and maintaining a strong intellectual property portfolio. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner and thought leader in IP matters, supporting the company's R&D, manufacturing, and commercialization efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of global biopharmaceutical patent law, regulatory data protection, and best practices in the US and other major markets. The Executive Director will be responsible for monitoring patent trends, conducting various IP analyses, and providing litigation support. Supervisory experience is preferred, and the role demands a high level of collaboration, professionalism, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants for this position at the company should have a Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school, be admitted to the USPTO and at least one state bar, and hold an advanced degree in a relevant scientific field, with a Ph.D. being preferred. A minimum of 15 years' of experience in biopharmaceutical IP practice, with at least 7 years' in-house experience, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in patent portfolio development, experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and a strong understanding of drug discovery, development, and commercialization.
