Senior Associate
Bain Capital Global Private Equity is seeking a highly driven and analytically rigorous Senior Associate to join the team with a primary focus on portfolio management and valuations.
The Senior Associate will collaborate closely with deal teams and the rest of the finance organization to ensure accurate valuations and consistent portfolio monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ongoing portfolio monitoring, including collection of key financial metrics for operational performance tracking across multiple North America companies.
- Develop and maintain portfolio-level reporting for senior leadership and limited partners.
- Partner with deal teams to analyze business drivers and evaluate performance trends.
Valuations:
- Drive quarterly and annual valuation processes across North America assets, ensuring consistency with Bain Capital valuation methodologies and industry best practices (ASC 820, IPEV).
- Build and refine detailed valuation models in collaboration with deal teams DCF, market and transaction comparables, unit economics, and capital structure waterfalls.
- Manage relationships with auditors, coordinating information requests and supporting audit reviews.
- Prepare and present valuation insights to Fund Controller for internal valuation committees and senior investment partners.
Qualifications:
- 35+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, valuation advisory, transaction services, corporate finance or PE specific audit/valuation.
- Understanding of corporate finance and valuation frameworks.
- Experience with portfolio monitoring and valuations, within a private equity environment strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and synthesize complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to liaise between deal teams and finance, proactively identifying and communicating operational priorities to ensure seamless coordination and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field; CPA or CFA designation or progress toward is a plus.
- Anaplan and/or Chronograph experience a plus
Compensation:
Expected Annual Base Salary $95,000 110,000. Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
