Business Development Representative (Freight Brokerage Sales)

Harrisonburg, VA | Full-Time | On-Site United Truck Brokerage is looking for a driven, competitive, and relationship-focused Business Development Representative (BDR) to help us grow our freight network. If you love hunting new opportunities and farming long-term client relationships this is your lane. This isnt your average sales job its part broker, part sales strategist, and 100% about driving growth through load sales. What Youll Be Doing Hunt for new business: Prospect daily for shippers, manufacturers, and distributors who need freight moved. Farm relationships: Grow repeat business by delivering exceptional service and reliability. Quote and close loads: Negotiate rates, build margins, and match freight with the right carrier. Collaborate with operations: Work closely with dispatch and carrier teams to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries. Track and manage your pipeline: Use CRM and TMS tools to manage leads, quotes, and booked loads. Know your lanes: Understand regional routes, seasonal freight trends, and capacity challenges. Stay sharp: Analyze market data, rate trends, and customer performance to uncover new opportunities. What You Bring 5 years of logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation sales experience preferred. Proven success in prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Solid computer literacy especially Microsoft Office, CRM, and/or TMS systems. A passion for the trucking and logistics industry you speak the language of loads, lanes, and linehaul.
