Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers with product suggestions and make intercom announcements. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, intercom, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director as needed. Operations & Merchandising Assist with planning daily operations and monitoring production processes following company procedures and profitability goals. Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce. Build produce displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. May be responsible for operation and maintenance of Salad Bar and Fresh-Made areas (where applicable). Follow and maintain department standards and requirements, including Fresh-Made and product freshness. Inventory & Stock Management Assist with controlling inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels according to division directives. Stock and rotate products; maintain and organize produce cooler. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Assist with physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control shrink and cost. Team Leadership Monitor employee productivity and assist with evaluating overall performance. Assist with scheduling employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing duties. Compliance & Standards Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensure proper temperature levels for all products are maintained. Receiving & Equipment Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating products. Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Administrative & Reporting Assist with accurately completing, maintaining, and monitoring daily log sheets, Fresh-Made Production Chart, sales and labor reports, and other required paperwork. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
