Advises customer on tools, hardware, and materials needed, and procedure to follow to complete tasks customer wishes to perform. Informs customer about quality of tools, hardware and equipment, and demonstrates use. Arranges for delivery of cylinders and hard goods by performing the following./pulliResponsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment./liliProvides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers./liliEnsures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing./liliAdvises customer on tools, hardware, and materials needed, and procedure to follow to complete tasks customer wishes to perform. Informs customer about quality of tools, hardware and equipment, and demonstrates use./liliOrder entry, process cash and charge orders; assist with reconciliation of cash and bank deposits./liliCommunicates by phone, e-mail and in person with customers, sales staff, store managers and others, inquiring about and providing information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc./liliDevelop outgoing call strategy and make outgoing calls to support sales growth for the branch/liliObtains or transfers merchandise requested by customers to and from other locations./liliAnswers customer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise./liliTotals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customers using computer, calculator and/or paper and pencil to prepare invoice. Accepts payment and makes change for customer purchases. Wraps or bags merchandise for customers and assists in loading and unloading cylinders./liliArranges with customer and location for delivery of cylinder and hard goods./liliMaintains neat, clean and professional personal appearance./liliCoordinates with purchasing department any product shortages or outages./liliMaintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management./liliEnsures all administrative and accounting related procedures are strictly observed./liliStocks shelves, warehouse, counters and tables with merchandise, and maintains showroom displays./liliAll employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described./li/ulpAre You a Match?/ppRequired Qualifications:/pulliHigh school degree or the equivalent preferred, with one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience./liliMinimum of one to three years of experience in an industrial retail, inside sales, customer service and/or inventory control related position./liliMust be able to work occasional overtime, when necessary./liliMust be able to operate in a drug-free workplace./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliDetailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities preferred./liliAbility to handle cash transactions accurately./liliAbility to clearly communicate by via phone, email or in person with customers, sales staff, Branch Manager and all the other branch personnel. Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds./liliBasic computer skills (i.e. Window Applications, GMAIL Suite)./liliAbility to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines./liliMay be required to operate a forklift in the warehouse./liliAbility to read and comprehend safety data sheets./li/ulpBenefits/ppWe care about and support all Airgas associates.
