Technical Writer Position

Position Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Writer to develop comprehensive user manuals and technical documentation for Modine data center products. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, product development, and service teams to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation for operators, technicians, and facility managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and edit user manuals, installation guides, operation procedures, and maintenance documentation for data center/HVAC equipment, including chillers, air handler equipment, air walls, and technology cooling systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to gather technical information and ensure accuracy.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to create precise and informative content.
- Establish style guides and document templates to ensure documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company branding guidelines.
- Organize content using structured authoring tools and content management systems (CMS).
- Incorporate safety protocols, troubleshooting steps, and best practices into manuals.
- Update and maintain documentation based on product revisions and feedback from internal stakeholders and end users.
- Support the creation of training materials, quick-start guides, and digital help content as needed.
Required Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in HVAC, mechanical systems, or data center.
