Senior Sales Engineer - Puppet
Perforce Software is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer – Puppet to join our Puppet team.
Base Pay Range
$109,850.00/yr – $165,000.00/yr
Position Summary
Our Sales Engineering leader is searching for a Sales Engineer to work with tier‑1 enterprises who are leaders in their field. You will deliver presentations, guide technical strategy, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities
- Work closely with account executives to develop a strategy to obtain new customers and drive expansion to meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
- Lead pre‑sales engineering activities including technical discovery, RFP responses, technical presentations, architectural guidance, security questionnaires, manage evaluations, sales support and ongoing client relationships.
- Support marketing activities by participating in trade shows, reviewing documentation for technical accuracy and hosting introductory webinars as needed.
- Provide customer and industry inputs to product teams and collaborate with product management on product roadmap.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure ongoing support and success for customers.
- Moderate travel required.
Qualifications
- Self‑starter – resourceful and able to manage time effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in technical pre‑sales or consulting in a SaaS environment.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Prior experience conducting demonstrations, training, professional services and managing evaluations.
- Fast learner and not afraid to learn new technologies quickly.
Hands‑on Experience
- Infrastructure automation – Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt.
- Development and scripting – Ruby, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash.
- Unix, Linux or Windows system administration.
- Azure, AWS or Google Cloud experience.
- Git‑based version control.
- CI/CD tooling.
- Containers – Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
