Senior Associate - Strategy & Management Technology Consultant at Metis Strategy

Metis Strategy, a management and strategy consulting firm focused on the intersection of business and technology, is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team in one of our three U.S. offices. We serve Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies across industries, helping them meet critical business objectives with tailored engagements and deep professional relationships.

Our three U.S. locations are Washington, D.C., the San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta, and Dallas. The firm’s coast‑to‑coast presence allows us to serve clients throughout the United States and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze organizations’ current capabilities and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with clients to develop and implement a roadmap to achieve their desired future state vision.
  • Apply analytical frameworks such as STAR, World Class IT, Digital Maturity Assessment, Getting to Nimble, and others to unpack complex situations and develop recommendations.
  • Lead small projects or major workstreams within larger engagements, managing senior client relationships and guiding junior staff through idea generation, hypothesis formulation, primary and secondary research, data collection and synthesis, trend analysis, modeling, client presentations, reports, and communication of recommendations.

Qualifications and Expectations

  • 4‑8 years of post‑undergraduate experience in professional services strategy and management consulting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology, or related fields; a graduate degree is a plus if relevant.
  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and untangle complex scenarios involving disparate data sources.
  • Experience managing small projects or workstreams with responsibility for up to three junior staff members in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven ability to create and manage structured work plans to meet client expectations and guide project team execution.
  • Strong analytical skills and capacity to manage and synthesize large amounts of data.
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills to convey complex topics to senior executives.
  • Business and technology acumen, with concrete examples of solving complex business problems using people, process, and technology solutions.
  • Mastery of spreadsheet and presentation applications (e.g., MS PowerPoint and MS Excel).
  • Additional capabilities in data analysis tools such as Tableau, visualization tools like Visio, and other productivity tools are a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an outcome‑oriented approach and a bias for action.

  • Integrity and professionalism, with the ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality.

Base salary range: $115,000 – $180,000 annually, with eligibility for bonus compensation. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; parental leave; family benefits; retirement contributions; paid time off; and more. Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with individual qualifications and experience. Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship is preferred.
