Area Director of Sales for the Hawaii Complex is responsible for maximizing the value of the asset by driving above-market topline revenues and creating a world‑class culture to attract and retain the best talent across specific commercial functions. The role leads sales strategy for Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hilton Waikoloa Village, two iconic resorts in Hawaii, and is a career‑defining opportunity to influence results across high‑profile properties.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes:

  • Lead the group, transient, and catering sales team and deploy creative, dynamic business strategies that achieve annual budgets and crossover targets.
  • Oversee commercial strategies and improve team performance by connecting strategy and business processes.
  • Provide a “predictive and prescriptive” cadence of activities to drive performance across Rooms, Catering, and Events.

Strategy

  • Contribute to the hotel’s annual multi‑year strategic intentions and commercial strategy.
  • Set and deliver sales targets across direct selling revenue streams (group rooms, banquets, catering, transient, and leisure).
  • Ensure business review guidelines and pricing strategies are in place to maximize pricing components and achieve group market share.
  • Align sales activities with optimal mix and accuracy of revenue forecasts.
  • Understand and contribute to profit maximization in line with GOP and EBITDA targets.
  • Operate within departmental expense budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with commercial leaders to develop competitor and market activity knowledge.

Leadership

  • Lead daily and weekly business review and sales strategy meetings.
  • Manage and execute the APEX performance process with the sales team.
  • Contribute to commercial strategy planning and amendment with the DOSM.
  • Oversee hotel sales site visit strategies.
  • Recruit and retain all sales roles.
  • Develop and evaluate sales staff performance and career plans.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and dotted‑line groups:
    • Group Sales
    • Business Transient Sales
    • Leisure Sales
    • Catering Sales
    • Contract/PERM Sales
  • Facilitate a culture aligned with Hilton’s DEI and ESG enterprise goals.

Ownership & Stakeholder Relations

  • Report performance and commercial activity status.
  • Liaise with Hilton Worldwide Sales for demand and conversion.
  • Build strong relationships with CVB and 3rd‑party travel partners.
  • Engage customers from all sales segments, supporting site visits and pre‑conference meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three or more years in hospitality sales & marketing leadership.
  • Three years cross‑functional hotel management or related industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced coursework in business, marketing, or communications.
  • Experience with business strategy and planning.
  • Multilingual ability.
  • Experience with multiple brands.
  • Proficiency in Delphi FDC.

Compensation

Compensation range: $200,000 – $250,000, based on experience and location.
