Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic / Sr.

Type: 6+ month contract
Pay: Depending upon experience, $35/hour - $45/hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic / Sr. Mechanic to join our team in Orangeburg, NY. This role involves performing maintenance, repair, overhaul, and setup of all plant operating equipment, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and maintaining production and support machinery essential for the manufacture of diagnostic products.
Schedule & Compensation
Overtime available
On-call coverage: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM every six weeks once trained
Minimum 4 hours paid if called in
10% shift differential during on-call week
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience Requirements
Senior Mechanic: Minimum 7 years of experience
Mechanic: Minimum 5 years of experience
Must-Have Qualifications
Commute under 45 minutes (due to on-call requirement)
Electrical and electronics knowledge
Experience with packaging and filling equipment (strong plus)
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair plant equipment, including:
Filling and packaging machines
Lyophilization (freeze-drying) and support equipment
Stoppering and closure machinery
Labeling, packaging, and finishing equipment
Conveying, transferring, and materials handling systems
Replace/repair bearings, gears, shafts, sprockets, valves, belts, supply lines, and components in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drive/control systems.
Disassemble, clean, lubricate, repair, and reassemble equipment for preventive maintenance or overhauls.
Perform installation, repair, and maintenance on building facilities.
Construct or relocate office spaces as required.
Maintain accurate records, including logs, maintenance histories, supplier lists, stock records, and equipment manuals.

Filling & Packaging Machinery - equipment for filling diagnostic products and preparing them for shipment
Lyophilization & Support Equipment - freeze-drying systems critical for product preservation
Stoppering & Closure Machinery - sealing systems for vials and containers
Labeling, Packaging & Finishing Equipment - systems for product labeling and final packaging
Conveying, Transferring & Material Handling Systems - equipment supporting product and material flow in manufacturing
