Our client, a large government agency is in need of an MSP RFP Consultant to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process to engage a qualified managed services provider (MSP) for Enterprise IT Operations. This is an 18 month onsite contract position in Jersey City, NJ. You can come onboard as our W2 or Independent Contractor.
The selected MSP RFP Consultant will manage gathering information from critical IT service towers including Service Desk, End-User Computing, Server & Storage, Database Management, and Configuration Management Database (CMDB), all integrated with the organization's existing ServiceNow platform.
The MSP RFP Consultant will report to the Assistant Director responsible for leading the development and execution of a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process to acquire a qualified managed services provider for enterprise IT operations.
The MSP RFP Consultant’s primary objective is to develop a detailed, comprehensive RFP that will enable the organization to:
Identify and evaluate qualified managed services providers
Establish clear service level agreements and performance metrics
Define resource requirements including dedicated on-site personnel
Ensure seamless integration with existing ServiceNow infrastructure
Create a scalable framework for adding additional personnel as needed
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The MSP RFP Consultant shall be responsible for the following deliverables and activities:
RFP Development and Documentation The MSP RFP Consultant will develop a comprehensive RFP document that includes, but is not limited to:
Executive summary
Organization background and context
Scope of services for all service towers
ServiceNow integration requirements
SLA specifications with measurable metrics
On-site resource requirements
Scalable personnel addition framework
Vendor qualification criteria
Proposal submission requirements
Evaluation criteria
Contract terms and conditions framework
Stakeholder Management
RFP Process Management
Vendor Evaluation Support
REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION The MSP RFP Consultant will:
Provide weekly status reports to project sponsor
Conduct bi-weekly steering committee meetings
Maintain project documentation in designated repository
Respond to stakeholder inquiries within 24 business hours
Escalate issues and risks promptly to project sponsor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The MSP RFP Consultant must possess:
Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum 5 years of project management experience
Demonstrated experience writing RFPs for IT managed services
Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and IT service management
Experience with ServiceNow platform and have managed services integrations
PMP or equivalent project management certification
Compliance with relevant industry standards (HIPAA, PCI-DSS if applicable.)
Highly Desirable:
ServiceNow certification (CSA, CIS, or similar)
ITIL Certification
ISO 27001 or SOC 2 Type II certification
Experience with enterprise-scale IT outsourcing transitions
Knowledge of vendor management and contract negotiation
Background in IT operations or infrastructure management
Experience with change management and stakeholder engagement
Work Hours The normal workday for the MSP RFP Consultant will be 8 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except for observed holidays. The Contractor shall be on-site for an 8-hour workday, with a mandatory 1-hour Lunch Break. Total billable hours per week shall not exceed 40 hours. All overtime must be pre-approved by the Assistant Director or the designated Manager before any work is performed.
