Job Title: Parts Counter Specialist

Reports To: Parts Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Purpose: The individual in this position applies basic skills and procedures appropriate for the position within assigned, functional area. Duties and tasks are varied. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Mechanical background is helpful but not mandatory.
Essential Job Functions:
Assisting customers at the front counter, answering incoming calls and attending to parts orders and or problems. This includes locating the desired part in a wide variety of parts books, both on-line with vendors and in-house resource books.
Work closely with Product Support Representatives and assist them in parts orders for customers.
Diplomatically handles customers' complaints in a friendly, pleasing and personal manner.
Loads, unloads and move materials within or near warehouse plant or worksite.
Examine goods shipped and verify the completeness of shipments against bill of lading, invoices, and other records.
Keep a "Quick Reference" guide for all common parts; this helps aid in assisting customers as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Enter all parts orders into the system. This includes organizing all back-ordered parts and arranging the desired shipping logistics.
Route incoming shipments/goods to respective departments.
Counts and compares quantity and identification numbers of units against order.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.
Preparing products for shipment.
Prepares identifying information/ shipping instructions on containers.
Pulls stock orders, inventory & stocking warehouse shop orders.
Assist in any parts needs the service department may have and provide support whenever needed.
Pull parts for customers when needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by the parts manager.
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma, Trade School or previous experience preferred.
Current driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
Must be able to successfully hold certifications for MSHA, Forklift, First Aid/ CPR, etc.
Ability to operate a forklift. This is a safety sensitive position.
Must successfully pass a background check, post-offer drug screen, DOT physical and WorkSTEPS FCT.
Physical Demands:
This position requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, climbing, moving and reaching overhead and working overhead.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work inside and outdoors in various climates and temperatures.

Work Environment:
This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, hazardous materials, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels. Appropriate PPE gear must be worn as required.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient utilizing computers including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Internet Explorer and general laptop or desktop computer use.
Advanced technical software application understanding with relevant industry experience.
