The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts. The New York City Department of Correction Information Technology is seeking a senior Mobile apps developer./ppThe Senior Mobile Apps Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance mobile applications for iOS and/or Android platforms. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver user-friendly and scalable mobile solutions./ppKey Responsibilities:/pulliDevelop, test, and maintain mobile applications using native or cross-platform technologies./liliDesign and implement new features while ensuring high performance and responsiveness./liliCollaborate with UI/UX designers to create intuitive and engaging user experiences./liliWork with backend developers to integrate APIs and web services./liliOptimize applications for performance, scalability, and security./liliStay updated with the latest mobile development trends and technologies./liliDebug and resolve issues, ensuring high-quality app performance./liliParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior developers./liliProficiency in Swift (iOS) and/or Kotlin (Android); experience with Flutter or React Native is a plus./liliStrong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices./liliExperience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries./liliKnowledge of mobile security and performance optimization techniques./liliFamiliarity with CI/CD tools and mobile app deployment processes./liliStrong problem-solving and debugging skills./li/ulpPreferred Skills:/pulliStrong understanding of Flutter or React Native./liliFamiliar with CI/CD and mobile app deployment./liliExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences./liliDemonstrated ability to build partnerships and drive cross-functional collaboration./liliA track record of successful technology ideation and implementation projects./li/ulpPublic Service Loan Forgiveness:/ppAs a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs.
