WordPress Site Designer Project 2029 is seeking enthusiastic volunteer professionals who share our commitment to civic engagement and building digital tools that empower everyday citizens. If you love turning messy sites with good bones into clean, fast, and accessible experiences, we’d love to hear from you. As our WordPress Site Designer, you will: • Update the current theme into a modern, responsive one that aligns with Project 2029’s branding, including following accessibility compliance and mobile‑first design. • Update the site as needed. • Assist with edits to the site including blog posts. Project 2029 is a grassroots organization run entirely by volunteers like you. Our mission is to create a more perfect union, where Freedom, Opportunity, and Security are available to all, where all people are treated equally, where the three branches of government are co-equal, where corruption is exposed, and where laws are established for the good of everyone. We are developing actionable policies to create a flourishing, transparent, and accountable government that works for all people. We are identifying and empowering new state and federal leaders to step into public service roles with the integrity and vision to implement fair and effective policies. Experience with web development in Wordpress. • Ability to work remotely and engage with colleagues online Ability to build a custom database structure and write code to customize Wordpress site for Project 2029’s specific needs highly valued • Knowledge of how to protect the site against common threats (SQL injections; We value volunteers who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to our work, and we particularly encourage applications from individuals who represent communities that are often underrepresented in advocacy spaces.
