Role Summary The Director of E-Commerce will own the Chewy commercial relationship and lead the acceleration of our business within the platform. This leader ensures our brands show up with excellence across merchandising, search, product detail pages, and category storytelling, while influencing retail media strategy through data‑backed insights. The role requires a strategic relationship builder who can gült elevate Chewy engagementעניין transactional management to a joint, future‑focused growth partnership rooted in shared category expansion and consumer outcomes.

Drive the commercial operating rhythm for Chewy, including forecasting, inventory and weeks‑of‑cover management, pricing, promotions, and operational execution, proactively identifying risks and unlocking upside with clear recommendations and action plans
Lead and elevate Joint Business Planning (JBP) to define shared growth priorities, category strategy, and long‑term value creation, and track and deliver against mutually aligned KPIs across sales, autoship, merchandising, and operational performance
Develop a best‑in‑class annual channel calendar that supports retailer and branded initiatives managing the planning, execution, and performance analysis
Elevate conversations from transactional to strategic discussions grounded in consumer insights, brand relevance, and category dynamics.
Identify and activate innovation and whitespace growth opportunities, partnering with Brand and Innovation teams to assess assortment gaps, build launch plans, and bring new products to market with a strong Chewy‑ready commercial and digital shelf strategy
Digital Shelf & Brand Merchandising Excellence
Lead the digital shelf différentes Chewy in partnership with content team, including PDP content, brand shops, imagery hierarchy, claims communication, A+ content, taxonomy, and review strategy
Ensure product purpose and benefits show up with clarity and consistency at the point of decision
Conduct ongoing competitive digital shelf assessments and prioritize actions to drive consumer discovery, conversion, and repeat
Forecasting, Operational Execution & Value Protection
Collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain reliable in‑stock levels and weeks‑of‑cover targets
Monitor and manage pricing, promotional cadence, and MAP adherence to protect brand equity and margin structure
Work with Brand and Finance to identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions
Retail Media Influence & Performance Insight (Influence, not ownership)
Partner with Brand Marketing to guide retail media investment choices, leveraging data from category trends, search behavior, and campaign outcomes
Translate performance insights into clear recommendations that improve trial, conversion, and autoship penetration
Track incrementality of spend to ensure investment ladders up to meaningful growth outcomes
Cross‑Functional Leadership & Influence
Connect brand strategy → digital shelf → Chewy execution across Brand, Innovation, and Operations
Influence internal teams and agency partners to deliver best‑in‑class content, merchandising, and sell‑in narratives
Communicate performance and forward‑looking growth recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, commercially grounded narrative
Minimum Qualifications
MBA or equivalent
Minimum 5‑10 years e‑commerce experience in a similar role, including demonstrated knowledge of Chewy, Amazon retail operations and leading annual vendor negotiations
Demonstrate both quantitative analytical skills as well as creative problem‑solving
Strong understanding of various digital shelf analytics and performance dashboard
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage people cross‑functionally, including agency resources
Action‑oriented with strong follow‑through and prioritization skills to enable management of multiple work‑streams simultaneously
Must have the ability to work with a rapidly changing business and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
Exceptional verbal communication and presentation abilities
Candidates must be willing and able to travel
Must be willing to submit a background check and pre‑employment drug screening
Must be eligible to work in the US
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field
Prior experience working in a consumer‑packaged goods environment
Essential Functions
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Must be able to relay accurate information via multiple communication vehicles, including verbal and written mechanisms
Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
Ability to operate aurniture and other office technology
Ability to observe details at close range
Occasionally travel for work up to 5% of the time
