What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Edit and coordinate corrections on the 3M OCE/EAPG report for patient accounts
Review alerts against patient records to ensure accuracy of claims
Document activities in the Allegra system and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations
Combine accounts according to payer requirements and clinical data review
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain necessary information for coding accuracy
What is Required (Qualifications)
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based (CCS-P) credential
Completion of a coding certificate program from a recognized community college or relevant coding experience
3-5 years of recent acute care hospital outpatient coding experience
Knowledge of ICD-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding systems
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for abstracting clinical data
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with the 3M OCE report or charge capture determination in a complex department
Active participation in continuing education seminars and peer review activities
Familiarity with outpatient reimbursement methodologies
